I am a licensed therapist with a B.A. in Bible and an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Freed-Hardeman University. I am a fully licensed professional counselor with mental health service provider designation (LPC-MHSP) in the state of Tennessee and am fully trained in EMDR. I am committed to helping clients overcome emotional and mental struggles by utilizing evidence-based approaches to therapy. I have extensive experience working with teens and adults who struggle with a wide variety of mental health disorders including depression, anxiety, stress related disorders, and substance abuse disorders, to name a few. I also have training in experiential therapy and am certified to facilitate challenge course and ropes course activities. Sound Mind is more than a name - it is my hope for each and every client. I utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities including EMDR, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
I have been married to my wonderful wife for 9 years and together we have one son and one daughter. During my free time I love to golf, play guitar, and go fishing.
I am a clinical psychotherapist with a B.A. in sociology from Memphis State University, an M.Div from Memphis Theological Seminary, and a D.Min in Clinical Pastoral Psychotherapy from Memphis Theological Seminary. I have 24 years experience in pastoral counseling and 13 years experience in treating co-occurring disorders in adolescents. I utilize a blend of Narrative Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
On a personal note, I have been with the love of my life for 17 years and I am blessed to be a father to three phenomenal children who motivate and inspire me daily. I am a man of faith and live by God’s Word. I enjoy beating Taylor Bell at golf and attending Memphis football and basketball games.
